From counting the money in my mother’s purse as a child, to working in the school bank, and helping to run the school tuck shop in high school, I have always been passionate about, and wanting to work in finance. I left school, and started my career on an employed YTS scheme for a very large PLC, where I worked my way through the various departments, gaining experi-ence, starting from purchase ledger, through to management accounts, mean-while studying for my qualifications. Since qualifying as an accountant in 2001, I have worked for companies in differ-ent industries, gaining a vast amount of experience, including annual accounts, budgets, system implementation, monthly management accounts, setting up and monitoring cash flow spreadsheets, payroll and Vat returns, to name but a few. My strengths lie, in problem solving, being analytical, mentoring, improving pro-cesses, procedures, and in turn efficiencies. I now run my own accountancy practice, where my aim is to work with, and support small businesses, by providing accountancy services in a friendly approachable way.

Paul Jenkinson, MBA, spent 20 years in industry in FTSE 200 building product and utility PLCs in a variety of line management and group strategic planning roles. He then moved into working with SMEs for the next fifteen years. Paul is an expert at strategy and business planning and at investment readiness and fund raising. He has worked for Beer & Partners (Uk’s first angel network), Connect Midlands which was part of Warwick University, running investment readiness programmes and over the last few years as an independent Non Executive Director, investor and consultant. He has invested in eleven SMEs to date. Paul is also interested in Board governance and performance and works with several Boards and Directors in a mentoring capacity. He holds a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors.
Sally is a retail specialist supporting independent high street shops and businesses, who she believes have a strong role to play in the revival of our town centres. With over 25 years’ experience in the retail sector including 10 years’ project management she now works with a variety of business owners from start-up’s to well established businesses, supporting them with a wide range of services.
