This week, as part of our BCGH in Conversation digital video series, we sat down with Matt Hadlington who is the Senior Business Engagement Manager at HS2. Dan Carins asked a range of questions to help businesses in the Black Country find out more about opportunities related to HS2, how they can get involved and the benefits.
Watch the video below and keep scrolling to find useful links and information, provided to us by HS2.
You may have already seen HS2 works happening in your area, and we expect the project to ramp up activity in the coming months.
HS2 is working in line with Public Health England only where it is safe to do so – for more information on ongoing works, and the HS2 response to the current Covid 19 crisis you can visit their In Your Area website.
For businesses, the HS2 project will bring with it opportunities, and will need companies of all types and sizes to get involved during the construction phase. HS2 are keen to work with local businesses wherever they can.
There are a few places you can go to find out more about how to get involved:
Firstly, wider opportunities are all listed on HS2’s tender platform Competefor (https://www.competefor.com/hs2/) which you can register on for free to be kept informed on the latest procurements as they go live.
Secondly, you can find out more about how local businesses could get involved, and also register with the HS2 business engagement team, who are working to promote the offer of local businesses within the supply chain: www.hs2.org.uk/local-business
Finally, you can visit HS2’s website to find out more about the project: www.hs2.org.uk
