Valuable Programmes and Opportunities for Small Businesses in the Black Country

Ahead of Small Business Saturday on the 5th December, we have put together a list of valuable business support programmes for small businesses in the Black Country.

SBS is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which celebrates small business success and encourages consumers to ‘Shop Local’. On Small Business Saturday, customers across the UK support all types of small businesses, both online and in brick-and-mortar stores. Many small businesses take an active role in promoting the day by hosting events and offering discounts.

Below you will find a list of some of the great business support programmes and opportunities which are currently available to businesses or individuals in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall or Wolverhampton. You can also register to be listed on the SBS online small business finder by clicking here.

If you’d like to find more support programmes, please click here to give our free online support tool a try. Please contact us for further information on any of the below opportunities and we will put you in touch with the relevant contacts.

Experts in Residence

This is a free programme from Black Country Growth Hub. We recognised a gap in business support for post-start and micro-businesses who fall outside of the usual SME support. These businesses are often in their first 3 years of trading and following pre-start programmes have been ineligible for further support.

The Experts in Residence programme aims to fill that gap and is based on successful business mentoring models. We have selected a group of experienced business experts who will be on hand to support with growth, resilience and forward planning. This programme can provide support with marketing, legal, finance, business development and other specific areas such as retail, pitching and digitalisation.
