Virtual Workshops from Dudley Business First

To support businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, Dudley Business First will be hosting FREE virtual workshops via Zoom.


Small Business Saturday Business Planning Workshops

- Session One Tuesday 17 November 8 - 9am

- Session Two Tuesday 24 November 8 - 9am

A two-part business planning workshop with emphasis on retail, delivered over two weeks. This event will provide participants with everything they need to prepare a short-term visual action plan to implement into their business.

Each 60-minute digital workshop set one week apart will allow participants to complete a Weekly Action Plan at the end of each workshop. Workshops will be planned to fit in with retailers’ busy schedule.

The workshops will draw upon national and local case studies and concentrate on some of the many promotional planning options and resources available – including:

  • using social media
  • holding an open day
  • extended opening hours
  • special offers
  • creating an online channel
  • collaboration with other retailers and support in the design and printing of materials.

The workshops will take a holistic look at what makes a successful business in these current market conditions.

Selling Online Workshop

- Thursday 19 November 8 - 10am

E-commerce has provided a low barrier of entry into a global marketplace. With the online channel becoming increasingly important, it is essential that businesses adopt an online strategy and plan.

This online workshop will help participants create their own strategy and plans to adapt their business model to the demands of the online world; looking at alternative approaches to market – either developing bespoke web sites or “piggybacking” on third-party portals – such as Amazon, Facebook, and eBay. 

This event will be delivered by Chris Jepson of Executive Training and Consultancy. Chris created and managed his own successful online printing businesses between 2004 and 2016.

Social Media Marketing Workshop

- Wednesday 25 November 8.30 - 10am

A 90-minute interactive webinar which will provide individuals and businesses with useful tips and hints to market their skills and businesses using social media.

Participants will learn how to use social medial to:

  • increase their profile views
  • attract the attention of their ideal client
  • get more engagement from their posts
  • get followed by their ideal customers in the quickest way possible

Participants are encouraged to access the training via their laptops or PCs if possible leaving their phones free to implement what they learn immediately.
